Dad I love you and I just want you to know.
I think about you often, no matter where I go.
I remember when you pushed me, in the back yard on the swing.
And how you sheltered me from danger, as a child beneath your wings.
You made each day so special, you're an example in my life.
You taught me what is means to always try and do what's right.
You and Mom sacrificed so much, to give us our daily bread
providing loving shelter, not just a roof over our heads.
You taught me how to play, with such a gentle hand.
You taught me about limits when I tried to make demands.
There were the times you had to discipline, yet you did it with such love.
And I know you both want the best for me, I am truly blessed from above.
No amount of words can say, just how I feel inside.
Somehow I hope you'll understand, that you fill my heart with pride.
To me you're the greatest Dad and in my heart you're number one.
You will always shine bright within me, like the light of noon day sun.
So these words I offer from my heart, because they are so true.
